Discover the charm of a French village, the royal city of Fontainebleau and its legendary forest, all just one hour from Paris.

Dear J.,

I don’t have your ease with words, but I’ll let inspiration guide me and tell you about my country: France. Thank you, by the way, because it’s thanks to you that I’m writing these first words on a blog today… and who knows, maybe not the last 😊.

My village between countryside and forest

I live in a small village surrounded by forests and fields. I love walking there with my dog (you’ve seen him recently 😊), and I’m always discovering new paths.
Here, renovated stone houses sometimes stand alongside large estates with vast gardens. But what I appreciate most are the people: they still say hello, they chat with their neighbors. A simplicity that truly warms the heart.

Fontainebleau, a city of History and character

Very close to where I live is Fontainebleau, a city of about 16,000 inhabitants, famous for its château, residence of kings and emperors. It’s here that Napoleon said farewell, on the famous horseshoe staircase.
Fontainebleau is also a lively city, with small shops, artists, and even a French-Japanese pastry shop that I love! You’ll also come across many riders, as the city has a deep connection with horses.

The forest of Fontainebleau, a natural jewel

Around Fontainebleau stretches an immense forest, known all over the world. It’s a mosaic of landscapes: giant ferns, tall straight pines, purple heather, centuries-old oaks… and above all its sandstone boulders, famous among climbers worldwide.

Another treasure: its white sand, soft as flour. Long ago, this sand traveled far beyond the forest to become Murano glass or even television screens. A unique heritage, nestled in the heart of nature.

A paradise less than an hour from Paris

And the most incredible thing is that all of this is less than an hour by train from Paris. Leaving the crowds behind to immerse yourself in nature, History, and the charm of villages… isn’t that wonderful?

That’s just a small glimpse of my home, J. And I’ve only told you about one corner of France!
I hope you enjoyed it, and that one day you’ll have the chance to discover it yourself.
